The market square in the old town of Schwäbisch Gmünd is centrally located in the middle of the historic old town of Schwäbisch Gmünd. There are numerous restaurants and cafes lined up in the buildings flanking the square. In the center of the square is the so-called "Marienbrunnen", which is adorned with a figure of Mary. The leaning tower of the neo-Romanesque style church "St. Johannis" can be seen from all sides. A large sandy area with playground and gymnastic equipment for children is located in the southern part of the square.

Der Marktplatz in der Altstaddt von Schwäbisch Gmünd liegt zentral mitten in der historischen Altstadt von Schwäbisch Gmünd. Es reihen sich zahlreiche Restaurants und Cafes in den den Platz flankierenden Gebäuden auf. In der Mitte des Platzes steht der sogenannte "Marienbrunnen", welchen eine Figur von Maria ziert. Schöne Altstadt. Zu empfehlen ist auch die große Rutsche am nahegelegenen Aussichtspunkt/Spielplatz.

A nice area. I visited during Christmas so there is Christmas market there. Apart of that, there are so many shops and restaurants as well. For shops and restaurants they accept card payments but for Christmas market sellers they normally only accept cash. And if you running out of cash, there is atm machines nearby (across the river)
