My PCP referred me to a hematologist in this practice based on my conditions, symptoms, results and recommendations from genetic testing. One of the mutations found involves hemotological testing that was recommended by a geneticist in the KUMC Genetics Clinic. I waited for a call to set up a consult appointment to review my symptoms, current conditions, previous hemotological testing/records and the full genetics report. Instead I got a call from an extremely brash nurse who said the hematologist has already made the decision not to do part of the testing. He didn't believe the recommendations from a highly respected and educated geneticist nor was I asked about my current debilitating symptoms. I was shocked. I spoke to two different nurses in his office and they were incredibly disrespectful and dismissive. My Medicare advocate tried to get answers as well, but was told a line of nonsense. (This interaction was never noted in my chart btw) The geneticist then created a new report attempting to make it more clear that this JAK2 mutation has 4 out of 4 pathogenicity, but is rare, so there's little information out there in medical journals. I called the office one more time and asked if he would take a look at the new report. The nurse supervisor chuckled and said no. I asked if another hematologist in their office would look at the report in MyChart. Again she chuckled and said no. I'm appalled by the lack of professionalism and compassion in a cancer center. Shameful.

Parking SUCKS !!!!!!!! They force you to valet park as you are either battling cancer or bringing a loved one there for treatment !!! 98% of the parking spaces, outside and inside the parking garage, are Valet Only and 1% is Handicap Parking ! You do the math !!!!

Why schedule someone for an appointment if there are no doctors on ground. Went in here for an appointment scheduled for 1:15pm but they made me sit till past 2pm without being called. Went up the desk to complain but was told I would be called. If I came in 10minutes late, you guys would cancel an appointment yet it's okay to keep me sitting for almost an hour. The front desk lady was also very rude, doesn't deserve to work at a place where people needs help
