Wow!!! A hidden gem, a Natural and Archaeological Museum.
In my opinion museum hold more archaeological attractions than natural ones.
Suggestion: A name revision may be needed to draw more attention and pull in more people to the KU museum(s).
Awesome! Awesome selection of various fossils, animals and detail info on human DNA, and on and on.
ADULTS: PLEASE BRING YOUR YOUNG ONES TO THIS MUSEUM.
I BELIEVE THIS PLACE WILL IGNITE CURIOSITY IN THEIR YOUNG HEATRS.

There are so many marvelous things about the KU Natural History Museum!

My children and I have always loved going there, I did before I even had children myself. Letting the kiddo's minds wander about various things throughout our world, both current and in the past is truly wonderful. It sparks fantastic conversation. They also love the souvenir shop.

Awesome displays of different habitats and taxidermy. A few stations where you can actually pet the fur of different animals. In the summer they have a large hive of bees that you can see into!

It is not a very big museum, multiple levels, but not a difficult or long trip at all. The building is old, they DO have an elevator, but there has been a time or two when it has been out of order.

They also have some living snakes, lizards, and insects too!

A very full natural history museum with many different collections, some live things as well, including bees and lots of reptiles! We enjoyed all of the dioramas of the biomes- they are so well done. As a homeschooling mom, I LOVED that they had many different worksheets kids could work on while exploring. Awesome. Awesome. If you go, make a stop at the art museum and the student center. The campus is very nice to walk around!

Large museum took us several hours to walk through. This was my second time and it was just as nice as the first. I would recommend starting on the bottom floor and making your way up. All was very interesting although if you do not have children the area above the main entrance is very skippable. My favorite is the top floor. I believe admission was $4 for children and $7 for adults which is a “donation” so I’m not sure if it’s required or not to be honest. Overall a great way to spend a day.

Residents and Visitors alike need to spend time here. Wonderful experience in a beautiful old building. The student presentations are fantastic. Enthusiastic sharing of knowledge,open to questions, really great scientists sharing their knowledge. Accessible to all ages and levels of learning.

Loved the museum overall. Great fossils display. Spent about 1-1/2 hours going through the 4 levels. We came about 10 hours away to see Comanche and was very disappointed that the only info given on the horse was how it was mounted. No story about how or why the horse was mounted and on display. We know the story but still deserved so much more.
