This place was really good. Owned and operated by one person who is Japanese. The omakase was well worth the $66 for 6 courses. While it may not fill you up, you can order curry rice, ramen, soba (hot or cold), and other dishes after if you are still hungry, I was. The sake was fantastic. I was the only person there speaking English and went at midnight. Good vibes, great food, excellent chef = great night.

私たちは良く二次会で利用しますが、今1番食べたい料理(カレー蕎麦チャーハン等)ばかり食べれて大好きな日本食料理店です。
一次会〜でもコース＄66でリーズナブルで美味しいので是非オススメできる名店です。

The place has a very peaceful vibe and the omakase was good. The best was either the okara or the soup broth. Love that the place has a very formal Japanese environment to it in the sense you feel like you're in Japan. My issue was that although the food was good for the price it needed more. We left still hungry.

Very homey style.
They offered an omakase and after the omakase you can order add-ons.
The sashimi in the omakase set turned out to be surprisingly fresh and tasty given the price.

A very refreshing omakase experience! Other options like ramen are also available for ordering, but the restaurant’s main specialty lies in its omakase dinner. All the dishes are light and delicately prepared. It’s a more understated omakase style in which the food are comforting and gives off the atmosphere of Japanese home cooked meals. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and I especially love the tofu soup. The tofu has an amazing texture from its sticky rice batter. The omakase includes 2 vegetables and 2 meat dishes, a sashimi plate, and a special of the day dish - all for $60. The vegetables and meat/fish used in the dishes are seasonal. Excited to come back to try more variations of the dishes!

Amazing family restaurant, not exactly cheap but reasonably priced. Can't understand why it's not more popular. Almost all guests are japanese so you know this place is authentic.
Who would have thought the best sashimi I had in NYC is from a set menu in a family restaurant?

I had the omakase. I felt it was mixed. Some great, some decent, some bad
Great: Okra, egg, uni, glass of sake
Decent: Mapo tofu, chicken wings. Both of these were lacking in flavor and didn't do much for me
Bad: The sashimi had multiple issues. Mine had a couple of tiny scales on them that I caught while chewing. Additionally, there were a couple of small bones. Further, the sashimi was tough and not easy to bite into and chew.

The atmosphere and service is great. I really love the classic rock vibes. If they could just improve the food a little bit then I would go back often
